A background in local government, small business, and community service.
I’m George Blush a Shelton City Council member, small business owner, nonprofit founder, and community advocate.
Since being elected to the City Council in 2023, I have focused on keeping our community cleaner, safer, and more affordable, including opposing a garbage-rate increase, supporting stronger enforcement of public-camping laws, and advocating for fiscal responsibility.
My public service began years before I was elected to the City Council. I was first elected Chairman of the Mason County Housing Authority in 2021 and today also serve as President of the Shelton Metropolitan Park District Board.
My commitment to Mason County extends beyond local government. In 2018, my family and I founded 5XL Shelton, a nonprofit providing pet food and essential supplies to seniors, low-income residents, and families experiencing homelessness. I also serve on the board of Crossroads Housing.
I know small business firsthand. My family operates Nita’s of Shelton, a downtown restaurant established in 1952.
With experience in local government, small business, and nonprofit service, I’m running for Mason County Commissioner, District 3, to bring that experience to county government.

Mason County should be a place where families feel secure, communities are clean and cared for, and residents are proud to call it home. That means strong neighborhoods, responsible government, strong families, and protecting the natural beauty and quality of life that make Mason County special.
